Filtration

(fil-trā'shun.) [Fr., from L.filtrum.] The proce by which a liquid is freed from solid bodies intermixed with it, or from any impurities which it holds Finistère, in suspension, by pa ing it through a linen or woollen bag, or filtering-paper.
