[Named after Wm. Rondelet, M. D. (1507-1566), a naturalist of Montpellier.] 1. Botany : A large genus of Hedyotide. Shrubs with white, yellow, blue, pink, roseate, or scarlet flowers; mostly from the hotter parts of America. The bark of Rondelet i a febrifuga is given at Sierra Leone in fevers. 2. Perfumery: A perfume, named from Rondelet i a odorata , found in Mexico and Cuba, but not really prepared from that plant. roodpeer
