LL.D., a distinguished American author, в. 1797. In 1811 he entered Columbia College, and was admitted to the bar in 1819. He became Profe or of Greek and Latin in the above college, 1826 to 1830; and Jay Profe or of Greek Language and Literature 1857 to 1868.
