The tarsus in the horse and other quadrupeds; the joint of the hind leg between the knee and the fetlock see cut under horse, capped h., (i) synovial c. h., a fluctuating swelling on both sides of the hock in the horse; it causes lamene and sometimes results in caries of the OS calcis; (2) serous c. h., an inflamed and distended bursa over the gastrocnemius intemus tendon in the horse, cur'by h., curb, spring h., see spring*-hock.
