Richmond, Surrey, “ Oct. 4, 1839 Called the English Tourte ” whose bows he equaled m excellence, but not quite in elegance; his bows nave single fault of being too short; unwilling to share his secrets he would have no pupil; and persisting in refusal to sell them died m poorhouse; father Edward and brother Thomas both made violins. Doebber (d^b-ber), Johannes, compr. b Berlin, Mar. 28, 1866. Studied at Stem Cons, under Radecke, Bu ler, and Agghdzy, taught pf Kullak’s Cons.; capellm. at KrolTs Theatre, DOMMER at Darmstadt, and at Coburg-Gotha, composed 6 operas (jDie GruLe 1899, etc few pf. pieces, several songs. ),
