Hector

(hěktür.) (Heroic Hist.) A hero of the Trojan war, and the most valorous of the sons of Priam and Hecuba. He figures in the " Iliad" as the opponent of Diomed and Ajax, the victor of Patroclus, and the vanquished of Achilles, who slew him, and insultingly dragged his corpse around the city behind his chariot.
