(Lat.), adj. Si2l-ve2s(we2s)'tri2s. From silva, a wood. Written also sylvestris. Lit., of or belonging to a wood, growing in woods; hence growing or running wild (applied to certain skin diseases to indicate the erratic or rapidly spreading character of the eruption). [s. 486]
