[Eng. sludg (e); -y.] Miry, slushy. slūdş, c. pl. [SLUD.] Mining: Half-roasted ore. slûe, slew (ew as ô), v. t. & i. [Etym. doubtful.] A. Transitive: 1. Ord. Lang.: To turn or twist about. (Often used reflexively with round .) 2. Naut .: To turn round as a mast or boom about its axis, without removing it from its place. B. Intransitive : To turn about; to turn or twist round.
