[Sp. American.] Zool.: Chlamydophorus truncatus, an edentate animal about six inches long, the whole body covered with hair and protected by a shell, loose except at the point of attachment, which is in the back, near the spine. Found in Bolivia. pich-iỹ, s. [Sp. American.] Zool .: An armadillo, Dasypus minutus. Found in sandy dunes and other dry places on the coast of Chili. IMG:content-1032.png:[blocks in formation] pichurim-oil, s. Chem.: A yellowish-green oil, having the odor of sa afras, obtained by the distillation with water of pichurim beans. It is soluble in absolute alcohol, and in ether. By repeated fractional distillation it may be resolved into a number of oils having boiling points varying from 150° to 260°.
