Roman name of England, said to have been called Albion before Cæsar's invasion 55 B.C. The Roman legions were withdrawn ab. 420, and the Britons were soon dispo e ed by Angles, Saxons, and other invaders. Britannia Metal. Alloy of nine parts of tin and one of antimony, with a little copper, used for table utensils.
