Ramnes

, or Rhamnenses , one of the three centuries instituted by Romulus. After the Roman people had been divided into three tribes, the monarch elected out of each 100 young men of the best and noblest families, with which he formed three companies of horse. One of them was called Ramnes , either from the tribe of which it was chosen, or from Romulus. Another was called Tatian , and the third Luceres .
