Magnetic Poles

The Magnetic Poles are two points, within the northern and southern arctic circles, but distinct and lying at some distance respectively from the true Poles of the Earth; one being at present about Latitude 73° North and 84° West; the other 73° South, and 52° East of Green wich; at either of these points the magnetic needle stands vertically, while when away from them, it always inclines to their direction.
