Truro, Sep. 1811; teacher of music at Truro, organist of St. Mary’s ch. there 1844–57; introduced into Cornwall choral performances on a large scale; matric. from Magd. hall, Ox. 11 Feb. 1855, B.M. 15 Feb.; his oratorio The Seventh Seal performed at Oxford 19 March 1862, D.M. 20 March; organist and choirmaster St. John’s episcopal ch. Perth 1857 to death; conductor of Perth choral union, and of the Euterpean soc.; printed portions of The Seventh Seal 1864 etc., and many pieces of light music. d. Perth 25 April 1867.
