To be or become marked with a pit or shallow depre ion; to p. on pre ure, where edema is present, is to preserve for a short time a depre ion made by pre ure, as with the tip of the finger, nasal p's, olfactory p's. Two small depre ions on the anterior cerebral vesicle, from which the nasal fo ae develop, p. of the stomach. 1. See infra sternal depre ion, under depre ion. 2. See anticardium. stomach p's. The openings or mouths of the gastric tubules seen in the mucous surface of the stomach; also called stomach cells and stomach ducts. tear p. See lacrimal sinus, under sinus. [Ang.-Sax., pyt, hole.]
