Oxf., B.A. 1823, M.A. 1831; auditor of Christ Church, Oxford 1849–57; clerk to Olivers on of firm of Crowdie, Lavie & Co. attorneys; a student of Lincoln’s inn 1823; admitted a solicitor 1827; eminent commercial lawyer in London; member of council of Incorporated law society 1846 to death; member of royal commi ion for inquiry into law study in inns of court 1854; author of Letter to baron Rothschild on the proposed alteration of the law relative to sales and pledges 1857. d. St. George’s hospital, Hyde park corner, London 13 July 1857.
