[POLYGAMΙΑ.] Bot.: Any plant belonging to the Linnæan cla Polygam i a. pol-y-găm-a-rin, s. [Mod. Latin polyg ( ala); Lat. amar ( a ), and - in ( Chem.).] Chem.: A name applied to the bitter, crystalline substance which remains when the alcoholic extract of Polygala amara is treated with ether. pol-ý-gā-mi-a, s. pl.
