Cladotrichaceæ

Order of Schizomycetes, branched filaments. having Claiborne, or CLAY BORNE, WILLIAM, ab.1589-ab.1676. Colonist of Va. who planted Kent Island in Chesapeake Bay, refused to acknowledge Lord Baltimore's patent of 1632, and gave the authorities of Md. much trouble. His "Rebellion" was subdued 1635, but under the Commonwealth he drove out the Calverts, and held Md. 1652-58.
