Mica

mi'ka, n. (Min.) A mineral easily split into extremely thin flexible plates, more or le transparent, and used like gla , in lanterns, etc. [F., Sp., and L., orig. a crumb, Gr. mikrus, small (see Microcosm), but prob. applied to the mineral confusion with L. micare, to shine, glitter.] — Mica'- ceo us, -shus, a.
