James Dodsley ( son of Mr. Cuff of Corsley near War minster, Wilts. yeoman ). Clerk in Bank of England about 1805 to death, clerk in bullion office there 1825 to death; an original member of Numismatic Society of London 1836; collected coins for 40 years which were sold for £7054, 29 June 1854; F.S.A.; contributed descriptions of coins to a supplement to Ainslie’s Illustrations of the Anglo-French coinage 1830. d.
