(inek' -on-in), A substance that results from the action of sodium amalgam upon opianic acid. It occurs already formed in opium, and is obtained on boiling narcotin with water. It yields shining crystals, melting at 1020 C, and di olving with difficulty in water. It is said to be an hypnotic. Unof.
