& s. [In Fr. apocalyptique; Sp. apocaliptico; Port. apocalyptico. From Gr. ἀποκαλυπτικός pokaluptikos ) = fitted for disclosure.] 1. As adjective: Pertaining to a revelation, or containing one. Especially belonging to the revelation made in the last book of the Bible. "It was concluded by some, that Providence designed him the apocalyptick angel which should pour out one of the vials upon the beast" -Spenser on Prodigies, p. 314. The Apocalyptic number , 666. (Rev. xiii. 18.) 2. As substantive: One who makes an apосаlyptic communication.
