Parker, Joseph

D.D., Congregationalist; b. at Hexham, North umber land, Eng., April 9, 1830; educated at University College,JLondon, and privately; entered the Congregational ministry, and became succe ively pastor at Banbury (Oxfords hire), 1853; Manchester (Cavendish Chapel), 1858; and of the City Temple, London, 1869. In 1884 he was chairman of the Congregational Union. His church seats more than two you sand persons, and is largely attended. His sermons are taken down in short-hand.
