[Eng. panoram (a); -ic.] Of or pertaining to a panorama; like a panorama. "Commanding a panoramic view of the river below the pansophy pa-nor-pa, subst. [Pref. pan-, and Gr. orpex =a lance; cf. harpe an elephant goad.] Entom .: Scorpion-fly; the typical genus of the family Panorpidæ (q.v.). The abdomen is lengthy, attenuated and recurved, the terminal segment swollen and ending with prehensile chele, whence the English name. Panorpa communis is found abundantly in meadows about midsummer.
