[From Gr. koleos =a sheath, referring to the fact that the stamens are united.] Bot.: A genus of Labiatæ. The species are found in Asia and Africa. Several are cultivated in greenhouses and gardens, for the beauty and variety of their foliage. They are menthaceous plants, with blue or purple flowers.
