pl. [NL., siz's early cla ification, and contrasted with others called Cycloidei, Ganoidei, and Placoidei. It comprised most of the acanthopterygians, but proved to be an entirely artificial group, and is not now in use. ctenoid i an (te-noi'di-an), a. and n. Same as ctenoid ean.
