is mental wandering. The oo is a common one in the febrile disorders of childhood, and may occur in any illne in which the brain is fed by impure blood. There are two chief forms, active delirium and low muttering delirium. In the former there is excitement and often violent struggling if resistance has to be offered; in the latter the patient picks at the bed clothes and mutters ince antly, but, being exhausted, offers little resistance. In the adult the condition is graver than in the child. In either case the patient must never be left, and if pa ible two people should always be present.
