CYANOSIS

(Gr.) In Medicine, the blue disease. A bluene of the body occasionally arises from malformation of the heart. The whole of the body, and especially its exposed parts, becomes a blue or lead colour, in consequence of the administration of nitrate of silver. [s. 323]
