Frankfort-on-the-Main

A city of Pru ia, province of He e-Na au, to which it was annexed in 1866. It is situated on the right bank of the Main. Said to have been a free city in 1174, and suffered much by the wars of France. It was entered by the Pru ians, who exacted heavy supplies, July 16, 1866.
