CAMPHOR A

(Camphor, commercial name of its chief product). Camphor-tree. O RD. Laurineæ. Cool stove evergreen trees, now referred to Cinnamomum. The true Camphor of commerce is a product of the oil procured from the wood, branches, and leaves of this tree, by means of dry distillation. The species thrives in a compost of peat and loam, and may be propagated by cuttings.
