Geneva Convention

A convention was concluded in 1864 for the amelioration of the condition of the wounded in armies in the field, between Switzerland, Baden, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, France, He e, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Pru ia and Wirtemberg, and acceded to by most civilized nations, including the United States. Additional articles in 1868 extended to naval forces the advantages of the previous convention.
