A convention signed at Geneva in 1864, by which the Powers bound themselves to observe certain regulations in warfare, tending to ameliorate the condition of the wounded. The Red Cro , the badge of the Convention, is a protection to all working under it, and to all buildings, such as hospitals, over which it is flown.
