A machine contrived for representing several phenomena of centrifugal force, by giving bodies a rapid rotation. Mr. Robins invented a whirling machine for the purpose of determining the resistance of the air, which is described in the 1st vol. of his Tracts; and a\ \n Hut ton's Tracts, vol. iii., where the results of a series of experiments with it are detailed. 1327 WHITE LEAD.
