Charles (2 son of John Landseer 1769–1852). b. 1799; pupil of B. R. Haydon, entered schools of the R.A. 1816; A.R.A. 1837, R.A. 1845, keeper of the R.A. 1851 to May 1873; exhibited 73 pictures at R.A., 26 at B.I. and 11 at Suffolk st. 1822–79; left £10,000 to the R.A. for foundation of Landseer scholarships. d. 35 Grove End road, London 22 July 1879, portrait by himself exhibited at the R.A. 1879.
