Arrow-headed stripes or other designated devices, worn on the coat sleeves, indicating rank of non-commi ioned officers in U. S. army, and of cadet officers at West Point. They vary in color and material, to indicate the arm of the service. A diagonal half chevron of gold lace for each enlistment and one for war service is also authorized for enlisted men.
