Collodion

(kol-lo’-de-on). Gun-cotton di olved in alcohol and ether; used in surgery to form a false skin. When painted over a commencing bed-sore, for instance, it hardens as it dries, and forms a slight protection to the tender skin. The stopper must never be kept out of the collodion bottle for more than a moment. Highly inflammable.
