Luigi Zenobio Salvatore, founder of the French Conservatory and instructor of hundreds of eminent musicians; born in Florence, Sept. 1, 1760. In the interval from 1780 to 1788, he composed eleven Italian operas, including “Ifigenia in Aulide,” the most succe ful of the series. He died in Paris, March 15, 1842.
