MARIA LUIGI CARLO ZENOBI SALVATORE, (ka-roo-be'ne,) a celebrated Italian musical composer, B. in Florence, 1760. He was for twenty years director of the Conservatory of Music in Paris, and composed numerous operas, the most celebrated of which are Lodoiska, Médie, and Ifigenia. He attained also the highest rank as a composer of sacred music. D. 1842. [s. 174]
