Atheroma

Disease of arteries, in which their coats become softened, infiltrated with fat, and weakened, leading to their rupture, or the formation of an aneurism. The proce is usually slow, and, when once established, incurable, but is warded off to some extent by proper food, cod-liver oil, and iron.
