When barely nineteen he became Mathematical Profe or in the Artillery School at Turin; and in 1764 and 1766 he won prizes at the Academy of Sciences in Paris. His great work is '* La M^canique Analytique. ” He wrote also " Theories des Fonctions Analytiqucs.”
