Johann Christian Felix, 1 German philologist, born at Darmect. June 18, 1798; died Nov. 29, Bahrein Islands, a group of islands in the Persian Gulf, in an in lent at i on on the Arabian coast. The Bahrein Islands are chiefly noted for their pearl-fisheries, which were known to the ancients, and which employ in the season from 2,000 to 3,000 boats with from 8 to 20 men each. Total pop., est. at 70,000.
