YEAR

Pears Shilling Cyclopedia · 1898 · p. 85
The tropical or civil year is 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 49.7 seconds, and should not be called the solar year, though it is measured from the sun’s appearance over one tropic to its return to the same tropic. The sidereal year, which is the period required for the sun to move from any given star round to the same star, is 365 days, 6 hours, 9 minutes, 9 6 seconds. (See above.)
