Indo-China

Name of the most easterly peninsula of s. Asia, between the Bay of Bengal and the China Sea. Area 815,000 sq. m., pop. 33,625,000. Great Britain holds there the countries of Burmah, Arrakan, Tena erim, Manipur, and has a protectorate over the Shan states, while France owns Annam, Tonquin, Cochin-China, and Cambodia.
