Burgundy Pitch

( Med.) A resin obtained from the species of fir known as the white pine. It is, however, seldom obtained pure, a common pine resin being mixed with it. Burgundy pitch is only used in the composition of plasters, in which it is retained on account of its warm, stimulating properties.
