Bay City

city and capital of Bay eounty, Mich., on the Saginaw river and several railroads; 13 miles N. of Saginaw; includes since 1905 the former city of West Bay City, on the opposite side of the river. The city is a port of entry; is in a rich farming section; and is engaged in manufacturing, the salt industry, the fisheries, and the cultivation of beet sugar and chicory. Pop.. (1910) 45,166..
