[Lat.] Mental Pathol.: A form of disorder of the intel. lectoften preceding mania, characterized by depre ion and melancholy, and often a suicidal tendency. There are three principal forms: Religious, Hypochondriacal, and Nostalgic. The latter, better known as homesickne , frequently occurs among soldiers and emigrants.
