MEDICINE

Arabic dawāʾ ( دوا‎ ). The only medicine recommended in the Qurʾān is honey. See Sūrah xvi. 71 : “From its (the bee’s) belly cometh forth a fluid of varying hues, which yieldeth medicine to man.”
