Analogue

(an'a-lōg.) [Gr. ana logos, according to due proportion.] (Comp. Anat.) An organ which resembles another in its functional relations; thus the wing ofa bird is analogous to the wing of the flying lizard, and to the wing of an insect, though it be not in its structural relations the corresponding organ of the body.
