(Lat.), n.f. Brus-so?n-e(a)'shi?(ti2)-as, Fr., brou onétie. A genus of moraceous trees distinguished by the globular female inflorescence. [B, 270.|—B. aurantiaca. See Bors d'arc.—B. papyri fer a [Ventenat]. Fr., mürier à papier (Qu de la Chine). The paper-mulberry tree, from the fibrous inner bark of which the Chinese and Japanese make a very strong brownish-white paper, and the South Sea Islanders a very tough cloth (tapa, or kapa, cloth). [B, 19, 75, 173, 180.]—B3. tinetoria. Fr., mirier de Java, fustique, bois jaune (oud pian). A West Indian and South American species furnishing yellow Brazil-wood. The fruit is used in Jamaica for inflammatory affections of the air-pa ages. [B, 178, 180.]
