Syn. Lampas , Skew . This occurs in horses from two to four years old, and arises from a little inflammation of the ridges that pa along the palate, above and behind the incisor teeth, occasionally preventing the animal from eating and setting up slight fever. The best treatment is to scarify the enlarged ridges freely with a lancet or penknife, and to give for a time bran mashes, soaked grain, and other soft food.
