LYCOPODIUM

A fine yellow dust or powder, being the seed of the Lycopodium clavatum, or club mo : when thrown into the flame of a candle, or of spirit of wine, it burns with a bright flash. It is much sought after for producing theatrical lightning, and is an excellent substance to sprinkle upon pills to prevent their adhering. [s. 702]
